I have a GeForce GTX 1060 and I'm running damn near every game that comes out. I am still new to all this stuff, but I built this computer in 2016. It's still running with the best of them, but I think I messed it up by swapping out one or two old parts for updated versions. I'm right there with you with not having the money to invest in anything else for a while though. But still, isn't your graphics card better than the one I have since I'm assuming it's more updated (just going by the number)?
June 13Jun 13 Damn....I just read about the game being patched or fixed or whatever. I haven't even been able to touch the game yet and from what I'm reading, it sounds like this thing is WAY more fucked up than the original....which wasn't even really messed up AT ALL. Here is the link for you guys to read what was patched and fixed....Gothic 1 Remake Patch 1.0.1 Release NotesAgain, I haven't touched the game yet....but I swear, this better not be another case of me enforcing my 6 to 12 month rule......That rule came from this bullshit trend of developers KNOWINGLY putting out broken games. And these dumbasses calling themselves gamers KNOWING these games are broken...but going out and spending billions any damn way on broken games...and then month after month spending even MORE money on the same broken games when a fix / patch / DLC comes out. They messed this up for EVERYBODY, and now we all have to deal with broken games. I'm too old for that shit. I came up when gamers were actually gamers. We didn't tolerate that crap. You put out something broken, you got ZERO dollars, and a lot of us boycotted your ass. If you tried putting something out again, nobody trusted you.These idiots forced me to come up with this rule. The day, Mass Effect Andromeda and Dragon Age Inquisition came out all you heard were complaints about them being broken. Month after month a new patch / fix, etc came out. It took 12 freaking months for both of those games to be completely fixed. So I waited 12 months to get both. I don't wanna have to do that with Gothic, considering how many YEARS I've been waiting for this damn thing.

But that will be officially 10 full years ago as of November of this year. With all the updating and enhancing and advancing since 2016, there's no way possible the card I have could still in the "best" category, could it? This thing has lasted me way too long for me to go backwards.no im not as it was aviable to big masses due to its low price then and "high" vram capacity it survived very long and supports some games it shouldnt even be able to run on paper that said its hard outdated now and you should atleast head for a 16gig 5060 or if you really wanna have peace for some years 5070ti and up

This thing is 10 years old, and I have been running EVERY game since day one. The only gave that gave that "slow down" effect when the graphics settings were set to high was Dragon Age Veilguard. But it ran fine when I lowered to settings. Every one of the parts SHOULD be outdated by now. The longest I had a computer was 4 years before this one...and that thing literally dropped dead on me while I was shopping for PC parts for this build.I'm planning on going pretty highend and strong for the graphics card this time, because I want my next computer to last another 10 years.
July 11Jul 11 Game seems to constantly get updated....still haven't played yet. Not because I'm having issues...no....just don't wanna get into the game and get hit with yet another update and end up missing out on something. This is unfortunate, because I freaking love Gothic since the day it came out...and I've been waiting years for this damn remake.
