I need some help to run spacewar on steam. I have tried everything, but have failed.

I recently switched to linux, and I'm having some problems running cream_api on steam. Games from online fix work perfectly fine, but I prefer games from ur site based on cream_api. The problem is that I have to run games through steam with proton, and the launch parameters can't detect this.

I tried those startup options in (maybe) every possible way, but to no luck.

WINEDLLOVERRIDES="steam_api64=n,b;steam_api=n,b" %command%

Has anyone managed to get it to work? ☹️

Ps. I should also mention that the cream works, because when I remove it, the game doesn't run. Only Spacewar doesn't work.

I have managed to fix this!

I've created a file called steam_appid.txt with only 480 in it. It needs to be in the game.exe directory.
With this, you don't even need to put WINEDLLOVERRIDES in launch props 💪

It does help indeed. I just installed Fedora, after years because of the recent improvements with gaming in Linux. So I guess I'll help out where i can when it comes to it now that I can properly test stuff.
