Installation Guide

1. No Installation Needed: The game is pre-installed. Just download and extract.

2. Extract: Right-click the .zip or .rar file and select "Extract Here" or "Extract to folder".

3. Run: Find bin_ship/DAOrigins.exe inside the folder and run it.

• Change Language: Move the language files on LANGUAGES folder to main game folder.

please help, the game run fine but... dlc not working, the files is there, but at the downloadable content option (in game) there is nothing showed, empty. and the "other campaign" is greyed out (cant click it). thank you <3

Yeah, this made me curious and I just checked on my game. You're right. The DLC isn't showing up. Everything you stated is true for my game as well. So I could also use help with this...

No DLC for me either.

Edit 2nd May, the no DLC is a known issue with the steam version of the game, which this is. Follow the instructions on this post to get the game to recognize them:

Okay...after a lot...and I mean a LOT of searching around...I found a resource for anybody who is still playing this classic, like I am....

First and foremost CLOSE THE GAME!!

If you have the same issue I've been having with the DLC quests not showing up, but some of the items showing up, go to site....

All of the DLC content is listed there individually. Right click on each one and save the file. Then go to the folder where you downloaded the game to.

Go to the "bin_ship" folder and run the "DAUpdater".

Drag each DLC file you downloaded from the site over to the DAUpdater and highlight all of them, then click on "Install Selected".

Wait for it to finish, then run the game again. Make sure all the DLC have a check mark next to them in-game. Everything SHOULD be working now.

Okay I have been having this same issue for a while with no way of solving it. The game has been crashing at startup like crazy. Crashing during loading screens. Just crashing left and right.

I have tried to google the problem and it seems like this is normal with the Ultimate Edition. Even though this issue seems to be a decade and a half old at this point, I'm asking for help from the admins HERE because this is a PORTABLE version. The people in other forums talk about going to Nexus and downloading this and that, and replacing this and that file(s). So I'm asking if this would harm your portable game or is it safe?

I need an answer to this before I try what they suggest. I don't wanna kill my game.

This release content not included any crack files, just removed steam drm on .exe so you can try it. I dont know mod or other fix files work or not.

I'm going to test it out to see if these peoples' method work. I'll repot back and hopefully it'll be of help to someone else.

Okay....for those who are experiencing crashing. Both on starting the game, or during loading screens...try this.........

But just in case you need them directly, here are the files for you to download. Make sure you do everything in this exact order....

1. Unencrypted daorigins.exe

2. 4G Patch

3. DXVK version 2.5.2

After extracting the files, go to the "bin_ship" folder where you downloaded the game.

1. Copy the "daorigins.exe" folder to the "bin_ship" folder and "Replace" it.

2. Now run the "4G Patch" and make sure you select the "daorigins.exe" file.

3. Now open the "DXVK" folder and copy all 3 files to your "bin_ship" folder.

That should be it. hopefully that fixes crashes for your games. I hope this helps you guys out.
