Copy the x86_64 folder you used in the previous game and paste it into the new version. Your save file will continue.

Since there isn't much protection in this game, it opens with a normal crack, so your PC didn't give you a virus warning. It may do so in some games but there's no need to worry. Use trusted sources and follow the download instructions.
