Progression is incredibly important in Sketchy's. Your going to face some pretty deadly enemies and having enough  health and damage to take them on is crucial. The more loot you, the more XP you gain to level up, earning you points to spend at the Suit Modifier to change attributes such as Health, Attack Power, Stamina, and more. 

The Night Shift is one of the more unique aspects of Sketchy's. You get to decide whether to stay on the planet and survive the Night Shift or leave and not risking a Team Wipe. Staying overnight means getting access to much more valuable loot but also fighting much more deadly enemies. The choice is always yours.

• Loot Sketchy Access Crates - The map is broken up into difficulty-based sections called Security Levels. Finding and opening access crates spread throughout the map can reveal codes that grant access to new security levels containing more valuable loot and higher security access crates..

• Loot Gatherables - Gathering is one of the major of ways of getting loot to meet your quota. You'll be able to Dig up hidden treasure, Mine Ore, and Harvest Herbs all with the single click of a button. You will also be able to level up your  gathering skills via your suit modifier, allowing you to perform gathering actions much more efficiently.

• Loot Corpses of the Creature you Kill - if you're brave enough, you can be the hunter instead of the hunted and kill creatures. Most of them can be picked up while some of them might require a shrink ray to make them light enough to carry.

The game takes place in a Lookout tower in a forest where a lost hiker is talking to you and your goal is to lead them to safety. The hiker is telling the player where he currently is and the player needs to navigate them through the forest using a map located in the tower. In the tower the player has an option to "respond" to the hiker using the microphone. When deciding how to answer players will have to choose between avaible options of dialog. After choosing an option the hiker will follow your command. This cycle continues until the hiker manages to reach your tower. The hiker then dissapears and your job is to go find them. This is where you have to leave the tower and go look for him in the forest. You will have to rely on clues left by the hiker in the enviroment while defending yourself from a monster that roams the forest. You will have to find out a way of how to defend yourself on your own.

It is your first day on your new job as a Forest Ranger. In the first part you go through the introduction. You will learn some background of your character and what your job will consist of. The second part of the game takes place in your tower, where you give instructions to a hiker and tell them where they need to go. And the third part takes place in the forest - outside of your tower - where a monster is on the loose and you will have to make your way to the hiker while defending yourself from the monster.

This part takes place during the day and will teach you all the necessary game mechanics with some cutscenes and story telling. After reaching the top of your tower, the game begins.
